Bifold doors have been used around the world for many years, although relatively a new to the UK they are fast becoming the product of choice to replace old style French doors and sliding patio doors.
There is much mystery and confusion surrounding the opening option available when choosing a Sliding Folding Door. The combinations are generally governed by the size of aperture and the maximum panel size.
To help you choose the best option for your project, we have set out the parameters for our 80 series aluminium bifolding door system.
For Example:-
Our clients have a structural opening of 2300 x 2200; they require sliding folding doors with one traffic panel on the right and the other panels sliding to the left. We would supply a three panel combination as illustrated.

This is a 3/2L-1R, two panels move to the left and one traffic panel opens to the right. This combination would be fitted with our high security stainless steel multi point lock on the traffic panel and, two concealed shootbolts on the intermediate panels which lock into the top track and bottom guide.
As a rule our max panel size is 1.0 metre wide by 2.3 metres high.
All our doors can open in or out of the building as required and can move either to the right or left. The ESPO system is not limited by width so should you have a 20 metre aperture our doors can easily cope with that.
We have outlined below opening combinations available up to seven panels. However, should you require free no obligation quotation or a greater number of panels we would be happy to produce a sketch, just call 01342-811975.
